System Engineer / Sysadmin from Dublin, Ireland who has lived in Seattle, WA since 2019.
Coffee and beer enthusiast, forced to hike by a grumbling golden retriever.
Spend my downtime hours playing SteamDeck, PS5 and watching TV, Films and Anime.

Work

Started out in Servecast, one of the biggest, at the time video streaming companies – doing live streams for the likes of UFC, and most of the British Premier League football games.
Went onto Dublin Institute for Advanced Studies (DIAS), managing IT aspects for the school of Geophysics. Involved a mix of desktop support, servers for the entire institute along with international geophysics projects.
Then moved onto HostelWorld, briefly, where I worked on bringing automation, monitoring and metrics to the organization.
I then worked in Demonware, an Activision studio, supporting online multiplayer for Call of Duty, Guitar Hero, Skylanders, Destiny and many other titles.
Now work in Valve, supporting our gameservers, CDN and datacenters.
